Amazing Grace

Grace earned her name through the unfortunate circumstances of her birth. She was born prematurely during a sub-freezing night. When I found her in the morning I thought at first she was dead. I put my finger in her mouth and it was ice cold. The Vet came out, we immersed her in a sink of warm water to bring her core temperature up, gave her IV fluids and aggressive treatment. After everything we did it was still touch-and-go if she would survive. To make matters worse, it had been a difficult and probably painful birth for the mom, a first-timer, who refused to have anything to do with her cria. So "Amazing Grace" not only survived, but was a bottle baby.
Grace has never wanted to breed. She was examined, we ran tests and found nothing wrong, and we tried several drug protocols to get her receptive but she would never let a male near her. So she is a non-breeder who could live with females or geldings.
